Finding new non-dues revenue sources, especially during these challenging financial times, is more important than ever. Here are some practical suggestions for associations to increase their revenue without overburdening their internal resources.

 

Monetize event apps. Associations can use their existing event apps to provide attendees with helpful information and personalized experiences, while also creating opportunities for additional revenue. For instance, associations can offer sponsored alerts, place sponsors’ logos on maps, provide enhancement packages to exhibitors and use surveys and polls to engage members and attract sponsorships.

 

Generate revenue through video. Video marketing has become increasingly popular, and associations can take advantage of this trend by offering video sponsorship opportunities. Sponsors can create and distribute video content across the association’s marketing channels, add branding to videos, and participate in live events to co-create member-driven video content.

Launch a “next-gen” Resource Library. Upgrading the association’s existing resource library can enhance member experience and engagement. By gathering third-party resources and requiring members to provide their contact information to access sponsor resources, associations can generate non-dues revenue through sales leads.
